Raja Gidh Novel is written by Bano Qudsia, also known as Bano Aapa. Her real name was Qudsia Chatha. But after having association with Ahsfaq Ahmed Khan she was named as Bano Qudsia. Most of writers called her giving respect as Bano Aapa. Bano Qudsia was a Novelist, Playwright and Spiritualist.Bano Qudsia was wife of famous writer, playwright, Spiritualist Professor Ashfaq Ahmed. She wrote a lot of short Stories, dramas, novels and she also wrote two biographies.

Raja Gidh is the most famous and most read novel authored by Bano Qudsia. The Word 'Gidh' mean 'Vulture' and 'raja' means 'Ruler'. The names anticipate the Rule of Vultures. The metaphor of vulture as an animal feeding mostly on the carcasses of dead animals. This is to portray the trespassing the ethical limits imposed by the society or the religion.

In Story a middle class girl Seema shah fall in love with his classmate Mr.Aftab in Government College Lahore. Seema is modern, sophisticated, attractive and glamorous girl. She fascinate most of her male classmates including, narrator Qayyum and the young liberal professor Suhail. While Aftab belongs to a Kashmiri business family. Although  he also loves her but can't rise above his family values and fall down to his parents pressure and marry some one against his wishes and leaves for London to look after his family business. The novel then touches many moral and ethical issues, belong the love triangle, depicted through the rich culture and everyday life of Lahore.
