Animal Watching is authored by British writer Desmond Morris . Desmond Morris is an English zoologist, Ethologist and well known writer on human sociobiology. He was born on 24 January 1928. in Wiltshire England. Morris wrote a lot of book on animal and human behavior, their life style, psychology and the impetus behind their habits. He is best known for his book The Naked ape.
Animal Watching: A Field Guide to Animal Behavior was originally published in 1991. Desmond Morris, in Animal Watching, discussed his observation and research studies upon animal behaviors. He was keen to watch animals since his boyhood and that was another impetus behind the inspiration to write this book. By making the watching systematic and analytical, it was possible to carry out field experiments that reduced interference with the animals to a minimum. He demonstrated that it was possible to convert amateur natural history into professional zoology by the straightforward device of quantified observation.
