Far from the Madding Crowd novel was authored by Thomas Hardy. Thomas Hardy was an English novelist , poet and short story writer. Thomas Hardy was born on 2 June 1840 in Higher Bockhampton a hamlet in the parish of Stinsford to the east of Dorchester in Dorset, England.Hardy trained as an architect in Dorchester before moving to London in 1862; there he enrolled as a student at King's College London. 

He won prizes from the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Architectural Association. He joined Arthur Blomfield's practice as assistant architect in April 1862 and worked with Blomfield on All Saints' parish church in Windsor, Berkshire in 1862–64. A reredose, possibly designed by Hardy, was discovered behind paneling at All Saints' in August 2016. In the mid-1860s, Hardy was in charge of the excavation of part of the graveyard of St Pancras Old Church prior to its destruction when the Midland Railway was extended to a new terminus at St Pancras.

Far from the Madding Crowd (1874) is Thomas Hardy's fourth novel and his first major literary success. It originally appeared anonymously as a monthly serial in Cornhill Magazine, where it gained a wide readership. The novel is the first to be set in hardy's fictional county of wessex in rural south west england. It deals in themes of affection, honour and betrayal, against a backdrop of the seemingly idyllic, but frequently harsh, realities of a farming network in victorian england. It describes the farmer bathsheba everdene, her lifestyles and relationships—mainly together with her lonely neighbour william boldwood, the devoted shepherd gabriel oak, and the thriftless soldier sergeant troy.On book, crucial notices were ample and in the main nice. Hardy revised the textual content drastically for the 1895 version and made in addition modifications for the 1901 version.

Gabriel all rightis a younger shepherd. With the financial savings of a frugal lifestyles, and a loan, he has leased and stocked a sheep farm. He falls in love with a newcomer six years his junior, bathsheba everdene, a proud splendor who arrives to stay along with her aunt, mrs. Hurst. Through the years, bathsheba and gabriel develop to love each different well enough, and bathsheba even saves his lifestyles once. But, whilst he makes her an unadorned provide of marriage, she refuses; she values her independence too much, and him too little. Feeling betrayed and embarrassed, gabriel gives blunt protestations that most effective foster her haughtiness. After a few days, she moves to weatherbury, a village a few miles off.

Whilst next they meet, their circumstances have modified drastically. An green new sheepdog drives gabriel's flock over a cliff, ruining him. After promoting off everything of price, he manages to settle all his money owed but emerges penniless. He seeks employment at a hiring honest within the town of casterbridge. Whilst he reveals none, he heads to every other such fair in shottsford, a town approximately ten miles from weatherbury. At the manner, he occurs upon a dangerous fire on a farm and leads the bystanders in setting it out. When the veiled proprietor involves thank him, he asks if she needs a shepherd. She uncovers her face and famous herself to be none aside from bathsheba. She has lately inherited her uncle's property and is now wealthy. Though relatively uncomfortable, she employs him....
